When you create a Plausum account, we collect:

• Your email address and display name
• If you sign in with Google, your name and email from your Google account (we do not access any other Google data)
• Your movie ratings, watch statuses, and lists

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide the Plausum service: authenticating your account, storing your movie preferences, and displaying your lists. We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to any third parties.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Plausum (for example, which pages are popular) so we can improve the service. Google Analytics collects aggregated, anonymized usage data such as pages visited and approximate location. It does not receive your name, email, or movie preferences, and we do not use it for advertising. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies

Plausum uses essential session cookies to keep you signed in. We also use Google Analytics cookies to measure aggregated, anonymized usage of the site. We do not use advertising cookies, and we never sell your data. You can opt out of analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Children’s privacy

Plausum is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Plausum after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
