When you create a Plausum account, we collect:

• Your email address and display name
• If you sign in with Google, your name and email from your Google account (we do not access any other Google data)
• Your movie ratings, watch statuses, and lists

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide the Plausum service — authenticating your account, storing your movie preferences, and displaying your lists. We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to any third parties. We do not use analytics or tracking services.

Cookies

Plausum uses only essential session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising, analytics, or any other tracking cookies. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, no cookie consent banner is required.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Children’s privacy

Plausum is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
